The Malanser is the Pinot Noir that doesn't try to disguise itself as a Burgundy, even if it thinks about it sometimes. A red from Malans, honest and well-mannered, that always keeps one foot in Graubünden. Aged in 500-litre oak barrels, a format that lets the fruit breathe without masking it, just long enough for wood and fruit to agree with each other.

The nose delivers red cherry, a hint of almond, a discreet and well-integrated oakiness, with floral notes and a touch of garrigue that drifts in on the air. On the palate, supple and fresh, round tannins, with a length that's surprising for a wine that isn't trying to prove anything.

With roasted poultry, braised veal, or capuns if you want to stay firmly in Graubünden, it follows along without effort. Open on an evening when you have nothing to prove to anyone, and neither does the wine. The Malanser does the job without overdoing it. And sometimes, that's exactly what you want.
