Le Rusé 2023 is Malbec, Gamaret and Garanoir, directly pressed, on the same clay-limestone slopes of Villeneuve as Flamingo, at Jordi's.
Ten months of ageing on lees in stainless steel tank, with no additives or added sulphites. The strawberry-candy colour doesn't lie about what's coming: nose and palate go straight for wild strawberry and small red fruits, with a minerality that keeps the freshness firmly in place.
It pairs just as well with a lightly grilled white meat as with a red-fruit dessert, tart or sorbet, since its profile stays on the fruit from start to finish.
A rosé to open the moment the craving for strawberry wins out over reason, at any point in the meal.
