Denis Koch & Kevin Studer

Kastanienbaum (LU), Lake Lucerne – Switzerland

The quiet precision of two aspiring winemakers

Behind this almost poetic name, on the shores of Lake Lucerne, lies one of the most promising duos on the Swiss scene. Kevin Studer and Denis Koch are young, talented, warm, and already remarkably precise in their approach. Together, they breathe new energy into this discreet estate, with an attention to detail and a vision that commands respect.

The first is a former perfectionist chef who became a meticulous cellar master. The second, a lover of soil and tools, as skilled in the vines as he is at the wheel of his tractor. Both advance without showmanship, but with high technical standards and true overall coherence.

Their elegant and refined range is rooted in Pinot Noir and Riesling-Sylvaner, but also opens up to other grape varieties: Merlot, Gamaret, Sauvignon Blanc. A classic base revisited with freshness and precision. Each wine is conceived as a discreet, sincere work, rooted in a unique terroir and an assumed modernity.

Kevin & Denis's philosophy

“For us, a great wine is first and foremost a wine that has meaning. It must tell a story of a place, an idea, a gesture. And if it can also make people smile, then we've won everything.”
