Lucerne is a discreet wine canton, but very structured once you look at the map. The AOC is divided into four zones that do not have the same energy: the Seetal (the backbone of the canton), the Sempachersee sector (often associated with the Surental), the Vierwaldstättersee, and the Wiggertal.
The Seetal is the largest and most historic, between hills and lakes, with viticulture that rises from the plains to the slopes.
The Sempachersee offers a more "inland lake" interpretation, with a very current dynamic and a developing vineyard.
The Vierwaldstättersee is the postcard version, but above all the light version: vineyards above the water, exposures, microclimates, and the crisp style expected from a lakeside terroir.
And the Wiggertal completes the picture with a warmer and drier profile, interesting for full ripeness when well-managed.
Pinot & Co. touch: in this canton, the game is not about volume, it's about selection. And that's exactly why we offer the best wines from Kastanienbaum, above Lake Lucerne: precise, luminous cuvées with a real backbone, that tell the story of the lakeside and the local atmosphere rather than just following a recipe.
