A straightforward Zweigelt, biodynamically grown on the Aargau slopes of the Schenkenbergertal. No pretense here: skin maceration, natural fermentation, aging in used barrels to round it out without masking the fruit. The result: a light, frank, lively red — a true house style.
The tasting opens with ripe cherry, sour cherry, a peppery note, and a subtle floral hint that goes straight through. The juice is juicy, taut, carried by a fresh framework and a surprising length for such an accessible wine. The tannins are fine, polished, precise — a red that glides without ever lacking grip.
Serve around 15–18°C, ideally after opening it a little in advance to let it breathe — with a platter of hard cheeses, a nice cold cuts board, or an everyday warm dish that deserves a lively and well-made red.
A luminous, fluid, spicy Zweigelt — an Aargau red that proves, once again, that Adrian's discretion can be a strength.
