This Viognier from Lake Zurich has half an eye on Condrieu, without ever trying to copy it. At Erich Meier, the bet is on finesse over power: precise work that simply lets the fruit speak.
On the nose, it's caressing: fresh apricot, white flowers, orange peel.
On the palate, real volume, carried by mineral tension and an almost saline finish. It pairs wonderfully with herb-roasted farmhouse chicken, a lamb tagine with dried apricots, or a lightly aged sheep's tomme.
