From a plot perched at 600 m altitude, Scadena 2023 embodies the quiet nobility of great high-altitude wines. 50% whole clusters, 70% new oak, 24 months of barrel ageing: every step was considered with care, with no compromise, to sculpt a powerful, distinguished wine.
On the nose: concentrated dark fruit, thyme infusion, a smoky hint. On the palate, it's deep, compact, structured, with a density that unfolds slowly. The tannins are there, noble and present, built for ageing. But already, a fine grace shows through, an alpine tension, a rare verticality.
A wine to decant at length, or to wait for patiently. For large tables, game in sauce, full silences or the right words.
Scadena is a Pinot that commands respect, and leaves its mark.
