Erich Meier

Uetikon am See, Lake Zurich – Switzerland

The demand for detail, the elegance of the lake

Erich Meier cultivates 6.8 hectares of grapes on the heights of Lake Zurich, in Uetikon am See. He crafts cuvées with a clear, chiseled style, supported by the freshness of the local climate: Glarus Foehn wind, dry breezes, morning mists, and generous sunshine.

While he works with traditional grape varieties, adapted for decades to this region, his winemaking is precise, almost surgical. Every detail counts, every action is weighed. It is not uncommon for him to spend day and night in the cellar until the wine achieves the desired balance.

Erich is a perfectionist, but also a pioneer: he combines technical rigor, instinctive finesse, and respect for living things. In his wines, one finds this just balance between structure, complexity, and elegance.
