The audacity of new beginnings, the rigor of life

A native of the Jura region and adopted by Valais, Alex Stauffer was not born into vineyards. He chose them. In 2018, he left the world of commerce and marketing to dedicate himself entirely to wine, with a fixed idea: to create great wines on the most beautiful Valais terroirs.

It all began with a plot of Pinot Noir in Flanthey. Then came the encounters, the old vines taken over "against good care", the steep slopes of Sierre, the plots saved, uprooted, replanted. In five years, the estate patiently grew to four hectares spread between Sierre and Flanthey-Chalais, with a mosaic of thirteen grape varieties.

The vines are cultivated organically, guided by lunar rhythms. On these steep slopes, weed control is often managed by hand. Natural and biodynamic preparations strengthen the vine, reduce inputs, and support the plant without constraining it.

In the cellar, the line is clear: respect the raw material, intervene as little as possible, adjust sulfites with discernment. Here, there is no magic recipe, but a constant dialogue between terroir, vintage, and intuition.

Alex seeks balance and the right texture. Each vintage is an attempt. Each wine, a test.
