Pilgrim 2023 is Möhr-Niggli's "top-tier" cuvée. A Pinot Noir born from their oldest vines in Maienfeld (30 to 50 years old), exclusively from Swiss clones, planted at high altitude (approx. 550–600 m) to preserve freshness and extend ripening. Hand-harvested and sorted, then vinified in batches, with a portion of whole bunches when the grapes allow, and fermentations in large wooden vats. Afterward, the wine takes its time: aged in 228 L barrels on fine lees, and for the 2023 vintage, approx. 15% also matured in ceramic egg to further preserve tension.

On the nose, Pilgrim embodies a "deep" Pinot without heaviness: ripe cherry, raspberry, wild berries, fine spices, with a mineral relief and a noble toast that remains in the background.  On the palate, it is dense but silky, elegant, very taut, and above all long: the kind of wine that takes up space… without making a sound.

At the table, Pilgrim enjoys dishes with substance: roasted pigeon or duck, veal with morels, rosé lamb, well-fried mushrooms, or an aged Gruyère Réserve / Etivaz. And if you want the Pinot & Co touch: it's a "big night" that doesn't need a tie.
