Sternenfeld 2024 is a Chardonnay that isn't after a caress. Vinified in barrel, with no malolactic fermentation, it keeps a lively, deliberately held tension. Partial maceration, spontaneous fermentation, 12 months of ageing: everything is done to express the site, without softening the edges.
Nose of candied lemon, green apple, flint and toasted bread.
On the palate, fine density, cutting acidity, a mouth-watering length.
This is a white with character, a little rebellious, but perfectly held together. To keep, or to serve with a dish that can hold its own.
