It comes from a 40-year-old plot in Flanthey, a place called Lonzemareinde: a spot that gives depth, not show. The cuvée is conceived as a tribute to Baudelaire, with this simple idea: wine should tell a story, not just tick boxes.

In the cellar, Alex treats it like a jewel: a part vinified in whole clusters, long maceration, then a year of aging in the best barrels of the winery. No filtration, hand-bottled. The result: a carnal yet controlled Pinot, powerful yet refined, with a very “clean” energy.

On the nose, we lean towards ripe black and red fruit (dried plum, raspberry), with a touch of candied wild berry, a hint of citrus, and a discreet floral side. On the palate, it is ample, intense, “melted,” with very fine tannins and a length that quietly stretches out.

A red for an evening, yes, but above all a noble table wine: roasted pigeon, duck with sweet spices, well-fried mushrooms, or a Brie de Meaux not too ripe. L’Âme du Vin 2023: the kind of bottle that makes you speak more softly… just to listen to it better.
